There's one thing I love to do... but rarely get a chance to, and that is go through old files. Especially old photos I take of my kids. It seems life with 4 munchkins keeps me busy enough that I rarely get a moment to reminisce on all the good times. Today I had a moment to go through some of those old photos... and look at this little gem I dug up! I am loving this today. Especially since this little one just turned 1 year old. Oh how I love that little face! I'm one lucky mama! ♥

What a great summer it has been!! LOTS and LOTS of swimming! One thing that has been really great is how well my little one took to water!! She absolutely LOVES the pool! I love the feeling of wrapping her up in her warm towel, drying her off, and admiring her soggy little water logged toes. I am convinced that there is nothing sweeter than wet eyelashes and wrinkly water-logged toes. Except perhaps, that warm sleepy little girl snuggling on my shoulder after a completely exhausting day of play! :) I'm smitten.

Check out this engagement session I recently did! What a fun couple!! I had so much fun!! These two are SO in love & so sweet! I had no trouble getting them to fall into loving poses! The weather cooperated with us & we were able to get some awesome light as a result YAY! We laughed & rolled around in the dirt a bit, & I came home smelling like wild flowers/bushes LOL! I haven't done much in the way of engagement photography... I think I am addicted! Thanks Wes & Darlene (& little "C") you made my evening -- hang on to that loving feeling & you will build an amazing life together!! :) ... sighhhh~ this first shot IS. MY. FAVORITE. ♥

This session was such a blast!! My friend Nia with Noyan Photography asked me to second shoot this trash the dress session, and we had so much fun! Nothing like dragging an expensive {GORGEOUS} dress through desert brush! Andrea was such a great sport & was so willing to try everything... & it didn't hurt that she is a natural at this! We would literally tell her where to stand & she did the rest! Amazing! :) Anyway... enjoy the peek!

This little guy was an absolute dream to work with, so laid back & sweet! He was the biggest baby I think I've worked with at almost 9 lbs. I just LOVE photographing newborns, there is just something so wonderful about a brand new life... a little miracle! So enjoy this peek, there will surely be more to come!

On a random side note...I had the pleasure of photographing my new nephew today!! I can't wait to show him off!! :) soon... very soon!

The weather is just about as perfect as it's going to get right now & I have had such a great time taking advantage of this beautiful weather. This family is absolutely beautiful (inside & out)! I had fun chasing all these little ones around... all of them were cold during our session, but you can't tell, they were such good sports!! Thanks Alisa for asking me to do this, it was so much fun! Your family is so beautiful!

Sweet Baby "J"

Meet sweet little "J" he was an absolute dream to work with. So new to this world & so sleepy... just 6 days old. When he was awake he was SO alert. What an amazing blessing he is to his family. It's just crazy how fast they grow & how quickly we forget how small they once were, that is why I am so thankful to be able to capture these moments, so his mom & dad can always look back & remember! On Saturday I spent the afternoon photographing this beautiful mom. She's getting ready to have baby number 6 and they have decided to wait to find out the gender until the baby arrives, I am way too impatient to have ever attempted that with any of my own, but it definitely adds to the excitement! I just couldn't get over the beautiful light that we had on this day! If I get the chance I know I will have more to show later, but for now, here's just a peek... enjoy! :)

This year I have been taking it really easy & trying not to over-do it, after all, having 4 little ones at home is a full time job in and of itself... but when Amy asked me if I would do her family portraits again this year I just had to say yes! We had some serious fun tromping around a few different locations, and the boys were AWESOME... SO well behaved! Thanks for the great time Amy (& family)! Your family is beautiful! :)

& as a little side note Happy Thanksgiving! I hope we all can take a little time to remember the most important things in our lives, the things that God has given to us in abundance. I am especially thankful for my family and my sweet children who light up my world everyday and for the Love that we share. It's truly a gift.♥

She's HERE! Our little angel arrived on September 22nd weighing in at 5lbs 8oz. she arrived not a moment too soon, at exactly 37 weeks gestation. She had been trying to come for 7 weeks, and I had to be on medication to stop labor... it was a long 7 weeks! :) But she's here now & healthy & OH so sweet! I have been busy snapping away, trying to capture all of her perfect tiny-ness before it is gone! I have a TON of photos to share, and more on the way.

Ok... I think that is officially the largest amount of photos I have ever put up at one time lol!... I have a good excuse though, she's so perfect, I can't help but constantly take pictures. I have so many more, but I will save them for later ;). And now I will go see if I can catch some sleep, getting a bit less of that these days, but it's been SO worth it! :)

A special session for the "J" family

I had the wonderful honor of doing a session for a family that I've known for many years. It was a special exception since I haven't been shooting due to maternity leave. Meet the "J" family, they are going through the process of adoption & will soon be a forever family. What a wonderful & joyous time for them! So here's a little sneak peek at the belly... my husband actually shot most of these (with a little direction ;)... but I am so happy with the way they turned out, it was much harder than I thought it would be, to have to be the one in front of the camera, but my hunny was very patient with me & all of my demands & I think he did a wonderful job! I can't wait for our sweet little addition to arrive... just a few weeks left WOO-HOO! :)

Look who I got to spend an hour with the other day... isn't he just totally unforgivably precious?!! Holy cow look at those big brown eyes! We got lots of silly faces from Mr. G because he has just sprouted his first tooth! So super cute. The morning of this shoot I woke up to LOTS of clouds... we crossed our fingers that it wouldn't rain & it DIDN'T... until after I snapped the LAST shot, then the clouds cracked open & POURED on us, I was totally drenched! I was so happy that the weather held up just long enough for us to finish up the session, because I just couldn't get enough of this little guy!If you look really closely you can see his new tooth in the shot above.... I was so happy that he decided to show it off :)Who can resist baby feet?

Here are more of baby 'J' I just can't help myself!! I had to go back for more lol! My sister agreed to let me get some shots with her & baby 'J' & I was back in a flash :). Doesn't she look AMAZING?!?! Her tummy is almost completely gone & he isn't even 2 weeks old yet!! I had several shots planned that would have included her husband, but he was gone that day... so I guess we will just have to meet up again (woo-hoo). Meet little baby "J" my new little nephew! He is only 1 week old & so tiny & so perfect. I visited my sister in the hospital after he was born & instantly fell in love with him!! I of course made sure we had a little photo shoot to officially welcome him into the world... (had to make sure to initiate him into the life he must become accustomed to with me around lol!) Meet my new little niece! Isn't she precious! She was born a month ago, & I posted her pictures up on my facebook fan page a couple days after I took them, but I had to share them here as well. I have been so blessed to have 2 new arrivals in my family during the month of December & have been holding & cuddling some sweet little ones lately. This little one decided to make an early arrival & so she was so tiny. I know she is going to get smothered with love as she is the first girl... and a little dolly at that :) (sigh) I had to show this one of her clinging to her pacifier! She got sick of me stealing it & decided to protect it. I thought it was super cute! :)I am loving all the little rolls she showed off in this one... just stretching lol!

Phew!! The holidays have kept me hopping! J 2009 sure was a wonderful year!! I am kind of behind on sharing some peeks at some fun stuff. My brother got married in October & I had the pleasure of being the photographer. It was a blast! Don’t worry though; I did have my aunt snap some shots of me in the wedding party lol! I have done some major picture overloads before, but never like this one… seriously…J & let me just say that I was very tempted to post some funky ones of my brother making goofy faces, but decided against it, for the sake of his dignity… aren’t I the best sister EVER?? Have you been outside lately??? I am LOVING LOVING LOVING this weather!! (one too many lovings there ha ha!) anyway, I had the wonderful opportunity to do these family shots this last weekend, & let me just say I cannot get enough of the beautiful weather & light happening these days... all combined with a gorgeous family, what else could I ask for?? So the other day I was able to do these for a photographer friend of mine. It was so much fun & her boys are so stinkin' cute I couldn't get enough of them!! We ended up doing these smack in the middle of the day, but we were able to scope out some shade & get some fun shots of her cute little family! So here is just a tiny peek Nia! My oldest daughter has now made it through her first month of Kindergarten (WOO –HOO!) and things are starting to calm down around here a LOT. I want to thank all of you for all the kind e-mails and comments, and the support I have received.

I have decided (by popular demand) to open up my schedule to do 3 holiday sessions between now & the end of November. I know that 3 isn’t very many, but I thought long and hard about how many I believe I can handle without stressing my kids/family out and I believe 3 is the magic number! Each session will be $125.00 (for up to 6 people) which will include 1-2 hours of my time on location, an online proofing session, and a CD with 30-40 edited photos in both color & BW. July Light Shows

This month has been a month of firsts for me, and summer has been great! These are my first attempts at fireworks or lightning & WHAT FUN it was! Last night we had a small thunder storm near our house and I noticed that there were actual bolts on display... many times we just see the clouds light up but no actual bolts... so I grabbed my camera & ran outside. My husband puts up with so much :) -- he had to deal with all 3 tiered kiddos while I was outside playing, and my kids have gotten so used to it, that when I walked back in my 4 year old daughter said "so mom did you get the shot?" I laughed & said "I hope so!!" Now if we could only get some nice rain with these "storms" I would be a happy woman!! This was my son's first fireworks display & he LOVED it!!!

There is something almost surreal about a wedding... and taking wedding photos, I think it's the raw emotion that comes through in the photos! This couple was so sweet, I got tons of totally candid lovey dovey shots because every time they looked at each other they couldn't keep from smiling and laughing. Here's a little sneak peek from a wedding I did this last weekend, these are some of my faves that I've pulled up so far... so I had to share! Isn't this couple absolutely perfect? I covered all the post wedding photos, which included my first reception (from start to finish) and I have to say it was SUPER fun! Since I covered the reception I was able to do tons of photo journalistic style shots... and that was a first, but I really liked it! So I will refrain from writing a novel about how much fun I had and proceed with the preview... get ready for a picture overload :)

Ok, somebody tell me what is up with all these GORGEOUS seniors!! I wish I had my look half as together back in highschool (heck even now) as all these gorgeous seniors do. This gorgeous girl was super fun to work with, she even brought her boyfriend along for some fun boyfriend pics. This first shot is my favorite! (sigh...) So it's been a bit crazy over here! I haven't had much of a chance to post some of my own little sweeties :) and even though these shots were taken about a month ago I had to post them. He's growing up so fast! I got these shots one day when he was TOTALLY ZONKED! I slipped him into the basket without him moving a muscle... I was in photography heaven, especially since I never got those precious newborn shots of him! Oh I just want to squeeze him in these... I wish he didn't have to grow up so fast! What is it about a sleeping baby that just turns me into jello!? I guess I might be a bit partial to this little guy though -- ahhhh! Sweet dreams!

My First Wedding Shoot

This last weekend I was able to shoot my first wedding! It was SO much fun! This couple was really fun, and so in love. It was fun just watching them on their happy day! So here we go... get ready for a TON of photos! :) Aren't they so cute together?! I'm lovin' it.

I must admit that I was a bit terrified to shoot at this time of day (smack in the middle of the day) I haven't ever ventured out on a shoot in the middle of the day, because of harsh shadows etc. We managed to pull it off though, as scary as it was for me. The light was beautiful & it was really fun to try something different!Okay... this picture (above) is my favorite, ahhhhh!Thanks Vince & Talisha, for trusting me with your big day :)

Another senior :)! What a fun time of year! The weather/light was perfect & this girl was amazing to work with, and I don't even need to mention that she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL because you can clearly see for yourself that she is just gorgeous! I swear this girl could be in a GAP ad!

I am going to miss this beautiful Spring weather when it is gone, but it is so fun to get out and take advantage of these gorgeous days! Thanks Lisa & Annie I had a great time!!

This was a great half session, we chopped it down to 1/2 hour to allow for more shots a little later :) but we got some great shots, even though it was at a time I normally wouldn't do a session (9:30pm) it went really great. Thanks Jamie, I can't wait to find out what you are having!

3 Busy Boys and a Little Lady

So I finally got to do this family session, which had been delayed a couple times due to illness, but on this day all the kids were fortunately very healthy and jumpin'. This was a fun session and a great bunch to work with. I know I say that about almost everyone, but I really mean it. These boys made me laugh. The littlest guy was so busy it is a miracle I got any of him sitting and looking at all. Aren't they a cute bunch?! Little Mady still looks Teeny!Okay so here is the most active of the bunch (above), he was a little energizer bunny! I got several pictures of him smiling huge and giggling at mom, but I love how big and gorgeous his eyes are in this picture, so I decided to share this one!Ahhh! What cute brothers they are!Remember Madyson? She is smiling now! The sky was a bit bright for her, but we got a little smile out of her anyway! She looked so incredibly tiny still, but she had grown two whole pounds since the last shoot! Amazing how fast they grow, and how difficult it is to tell until you look back at pictures! Thanks again Heather! You guys were great, and your boys were a total hoot! :)

Beautiful Girls

A few days ago I had the privilege of doing this shoot for a friend of mine, this is her beautiful 2 week old baby girl. She was such a sweetie, and didn't fuss the whole time, despite the fact that she was awake for most of it.Seriously, she was only 2 weeks old, but when we tried to put her in the basket and fold her into a more squished new baby pose she wasn't having it, she was much happier with her head straight up, and her tiny body totally rigid. We laughed when we got her in this pose, what a cutie!Here are 2 of the big sisters, don't you just LOVE their gorgeous brown eyes??!

Senior Part 1

I am a bit behind in my posting because I've been so busy... don't worry Baker Family, I will have the family pics up in a bit (part 2). This was a senior/family session, and let me just say that this was a GREAT family, and a beautiful senior. Her eyes are absolutely gorgeous, I forgot to try a few with the glasses off, but even with them you can see how beautiful her eyes are! The forecast was rain, but instead of raining, it was just plain gorgeous weather, breezy and beautiful!! Here are a few of my faves but I haven't finished editing, so I may post a few more later, it's SO hard to choose!

This little baby girl was (is) so adorable!! The whole shoot she was cooing and smiling, she was so great to work with, look at those beautiful eyes!!! I had the HARDEST time choosing pictures for this preview, they were all so cute, this little girl was full of smiles and fun!

Of course we had to get a few with big bro. & big sis. these kids were great to work with, I could tell that they were just in love with this little baby girl! Thanks Chris, enjoy your preview!

One of the perks of getting into photography is that I will never have to buy those school mug shots. This year (which just so happens to be her first) I dressed her up all pretty on school picture day, but when the pictures came out I wasn't happy, her hair was messed up and she didn't look like herself at all. So today she came to me asking if I would take some pictures of her, so of course I jumped at the chance to photograph a willing little girl. We took tons of shots, but I can't get over this one. I can't decide if I like it better in color or black and white, but it is her... all the way. She is usually so busy and wants me to take tons of action pics. so I was pleasantly surprised when she was sweetly sitting still and gazing up at me. Ahhh. 2 of my joys in life, raising my gorgeous kids and taking pictures to remember them as they truly are.

Meet Hannah. isn't she beautiful? I have taken many pictures of her before but we had to get some with the tutu. It was hard not to choose the ones we got of her smiling, but I was just dying when I saw this adorable face... It's like she's saying "huh?" Which is probably what she was thinking throughout my attempt to capture her sitting still! She has gotten to the stage of crawling climbing and perpetual movement, but we also managed to capture her quietly sucking her thumb as well! :)

The light that was streaming in for these shots was absolutely dreamy!

So FINALLY I decided to post these! Jess you can kill me later :) I had a really hard time choosing which ones to post. These photos are 5 of many taken specifically for a calendar for her hubby. Unfortunately I am not able to post some of the cutest ones because I know she would kill me, but anyway, isn't she gorgeous? It was a totally fun "Hot Mama" Shoot! I know her hubby will LOVE the calendar! (and for all of you with curious minds... don't worry it stayed PG).

Pink Light!

The other day my hubby came home and stepped in the door and immediately I noticed a strange, very pink light on his face, it took me a second to realize where the light was coming from... but as soon as I realized I made a mad dash for my camera! I really am not into landscape photography, but I couldn't resist. I just wish there was something more interesting going on in the horizon in my boring neighborhood. The sunsets lately have been absolutely breath taking and it is amazing how quickly the window passes, I took maybe 10 shots of this sunset, and every shot got darker and less interesting. Anyway, it really makes me appreciate this beautiful state!

This was the best shoot ever! Not only is this family SO perfect, but the kids were totally trained to smile on demand, so it took out half the hard work! :) As I was taking this picture a woman walked by and said "She should be on a magazine!!!" I couldn't agree more! She is so gorgeous, I love how seasonal this picture looks... gotta love the "fall." Thanks for asking me to do this for you, it was really fun! Sorry about the hiccups! :)
